LOOK AFTER OUR DAUGHTERS

The rate at which stepfathers abuse their stepdaughters is alarming. This blog is not to talk about these so called evil Stepfathers, but to encourage mums to take care of their daughters.

The story below is both sad and good. Sad because the trauma the victim has gone through, a lot other young women have been through the same and their lives never remained the same again. And yes, many more are still going through such abuses, thank God for the husband of this victim who has helped her through and brought her abuser to Justice.

My question is how many people may be as lucky as this victim? Abuse on children has its many disadvantages in the life of the victim, especially for the very many who never had the courage to speak about it; their lives are destroyed by the effect of the trauma.

You may want to ask “how does this concern you?” this concerns each of us for various reasons:

It brings general awareness to everyone of what could be going on in homes thus we could be our brother’s keeper and help keep an eye on children, especially those from broken homes whose mums have remarried or are having a partner.

There are some of us who may be gifted to support victims of such abuse to overcome the effect on their lives and by this article; I think the time is now to start doing something to help these victims.

You may not be able to help directly but may like me or the victim in the article be able to write more on the subject for others to read and learn more of the side effects of this abuse for their future.

For you mums, it will help you support your daughters better and keep them away from abuse.

Please read the article below and share with as many people as you can. Happy Reading!!!

Abuse victim says her rapist stepdad made her dress up in mother’s lingerie when she was eight

Richard Hartley-Parkinson for Metro.co.ukMonday 20 Apr 2015 10:25 am

The abuse started when Kim was just four years old (Picture: PA Real Life)

A woman has broken her silence about suffering sexual abuse at the hands of her stepfather.

Kim Hill, now 31, was forced to dress up in her mother’s lingerie and watch porn with Derek Osborne when she was just eight years old.

She did not speak about the assaults she suffered until husband, Rob Hill, 34, asked her if she had been abused as a child because she was often withdrawn.

Kim broke down and told him what had happened.

The abuse started when she was just four years old and continued until after she turned 12.

Speaking about the abuse, Mrs Hill, who married Mr Hill in 2013, said: ‘I didn’t know any different so I accepted what he was doing as normal.

Kim’s ordeal was unravelled when her husband asked her if she had been abused (Picture: PA Real Life)

‘I saw him as my dad. I just thought my dad loved me very much.’

Mrs Hill’s father died when she was young and she was aged three when Osborne began a relationship with her mother.

She said: ‘I scrambled for mum’s attention with my three siblings. But I was always Derek’s favourite.

‘He’d come and tuck me into bed while Mum watched television downstairs.’

But then his attention turned sexual and he invited her into his bed ‘for a cuddle’.

When she was seven and learning about sex, she began to realise what he was doing was wrong.

‘I was horrified, all I could think was, “What if I have a baby growing inside me?”,’ she said. ‘I knew how upset mum would be if she found out and I’d get into so much trouble.’

Derek Osborne was jailed for 21 years (Picture: PA Real Life)

At the age of 10, Osborne and Kim’s mother split up, but kept in touch and two days after her 12th birthday he sexually assaulted her again.

She said: ‘My feet were kicking as hard as I could but I wasn’t strong enough to push him away.

‘A look of anger spread across his face as he tried to hold me down. After, I felt disgusting. That was the last time he abused me.’

As a result she found it difficult to form relationships with men until she met Rob who helped her through the trauma of going to police and reliving the nightmare from 20 years ago.

It emerged that he had abused other people and last May he admitted 16 different counts and was jailed for 21 years. One count of gross indecency with a child – not on Kim – was later quashed.

She said: ‘I’ve started counselling and healing sessions with the Happiness Foundation. They’re helping me to accept it and move on.

‘Rob is there with me every step of the way and I know he’s so proud.

‘I’ve also started a blog about everything I’ve been through.

‘I’ve had so many victims of sexual abuse thank me for telling my story and showing you can put your abuser behind bars – even years later.

THIEVES IN BRITAIN

This is definitely not funny and you cannot afford to ignore it. Years ago, you cannot see acts like this in Britain, when the morals were still morals as drawn from the Holy Bible.

You cannot afford to be folding your hands and thinking that it is not your business. It certainly starts from somewhere and it needs to be curbed before it is too late. This is not good sight.

Can you help? There are many things you can do to help. You can educate people on the disadvantages of acts like these; you can help to provide more jobs; you can create an awareness forum for people to talk about causes and prevention of acts like this. I mean a million more things that you are capable of doing to help.

The bottom-line is that you need to do something to help the next generation. A lot of us have enjoyed what it is like to live in a peaceful community and generation, let us build a better one for our children and the next generation.

Arise today and do what you can to help.

Nope, this isn’t from a film (Picture: SWNS)

This photo might look like the aftermath of a disaster movie, but it’s the scene that cops were faced with when the front of a bank was blown off by thieves.

The daring raid at Lloyds bank in Shirehampton, Bristol, reduced the entire shop front to debris as thieves made off with a cash machine.

An eyewitness reported seeing a gang of seven or eight men in balaclavas storming the bank before escaping with cash at around 2am on Friday morning.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, was working nearby when the raid occurred.

‘I heard this loud bang which was louder than a firework’, he said.

‘There was a lot of vibration and smoke.

Police are investigating the raid at Lloyds Bank in Shirehampton. (Picture: SWNS)

‘I rushed out and saw about seven or eight men with black balaclavas, black coats – they were all in black. One of them had a crowbar.

‘The cash point was blown into the middle of the road and they were taking black boxes out of it.

‘They left the scene in two cars. Everything was over in less than a minute.’

A 19-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and remanded in custody after a car was stopped by police.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said: ‘Our inquiries are continuing and we’re appealing to anyone who might have been in the area at the time of the incident who may have seen suspicious activity or have information to help our inquiries.

‘If you can help, contact Bristol CID on the force number 101, quoting log number 87 of 03.04.2015.

AT WHAT AGE?

Another sex scandal!!! This one is very bad because it was done in a classroom!!!! In a public place where our children are being taught, what an embarrassment!

Anyway, how do we put a stop to things like this? You may think “O let it go, it is a one off” but the truth is that it is not! There is moral decadence in the society and it is getting worse by the day. Previous article was about teenagers having sex in an ambulance, and now, look at the age of this man, 69! He surely should know better but the problem is that age, as they say is but a number!!! He obviously does not know….

Knowledge they say is power, but it depends on what you have knowledge in! People like this, have the wrong knowledge of what sex is. Don’t you think?

We are yet to see more of these unless you and I wake up from our slumber and put right measures in place to curb acts like this.

Read with me and try not to be sick like me when imagining what the look on the head teacher’s face was like on meeting the scene.

Thank goodness the children were not in school.

Think about it, how best can you help to reduce this abuse of purpose especially on sex in this generation? Become an MP and propose capital punishment on acts like this in public place, or?

Married teacher, 69, caught having sex with model at school

Jimmy Nsubuga for Metro.co.ukSaturday 4 Apr 2015 3:13 pm

Private tutor Colin Turnbull, 69, was found in the compromising position with his lover, Rozina Khanim (Picture: Facebook)

Thank goodness none of the children walked in on this, otherwise they would have got an impromptu sex education class.

The pupils at the Priory School in Edgbaston would have found private tutor Colin Turnbull having sex with self-described model Rozina Khanim.

Luckily it was Saturday January 24, and the top Catholic independent school was hosting entrance exams.

Rozina Khanim is much younger than the teacher (Picture: SWNS)

School governor Kevin Bird was the one who discovered the 69-year-old in the compromising position.

He had caught the pair after they sneaked off to a quiet classroom.

The Department for Education has been notified about the incident and Mr Turnbull, who is married, was reportedly told never to return to the school.

‘Mr Turnbull was challenged; he fully admitted improper behaviour and was then instructed by the assistant headteacher to leave the school site immediately and to not return,’ a spokeswoman from the school told Birmingham Mail.

WE NEED MORE EMPLOYERS OF LABOUR

If you read this article you are likely going to weep for the next generation. It is frustrating if you keep applying for jobs and not being invited for an interview nor get a permanent job.

I know we all have different excuses as to why this might be, but for me, I will rather imagine the difference it will make to a man like this and many more when we have more new companies by you and I. Issues like this is prevalent in the society because they are less jobs for more people.

What are you doing about it? Do you still doubt the potential in you to be the next employer of labour? Have you given up on that dream that you have been nursing over the years?

The time has come for you to do something about it. Do not allow lives like this waste after the labour of going through university.

Awake today and hatch that egg you have been carrying about, you have what it takes.

Man applies for 500 jobs but doesn’t get a single interview

Matt Payton for Metro.co.ukSunday 5 Apr 2015 12:29 pm

Huw Davies, 34 from Merthyr (Picture: BPM)

After 13 years and 500 applications – one university graduate has not yet had a single interview for a permanent job.

Huw Evans graduated from the University of Glamorgan in 2002 with a degree in geography not knowing he would spend over a decade hunting for a steady position.

While the South Wales native has been employed over this frustrating period, these have only been on short fixed-term contracts.

The 34-year-old said: ‘Everyone I’ve spoken to – people in business, the job centre, my friends and family, just don’t know why I don’t even get interviews.

‘The sheer fact I have moved three times to work should imply I am eager to work.

‘It’s hard to blame anyone without being able to put my finger on the issue in the first place.’

Not that he has been idle in his spare time either, he has completed three books of poetry and plans to start writing two novels.

Huw has found himself in employment limbo despite his will to work and respectable academic credentials, he even considered a job a train driver simply due it being advertised.

Speaking of his predicament: ‘My job centre told me ages ago I was caught in a catch-22, saying I was over-qualified for a factory-type job but under-experienced for the kind of job I wanted to do.’

Cabinet minister William Hague was asked about Huw’s case while on an election campaign visit to South Wales and he expressed his sympathy: ‘We are determined to create more opportunities for people like him.

‘This is why the creation of more jobs is important. It doesn’t mean everybody instantly has a job, but it means literally every day more and more people are able to find work, and there are now more job vacancies across the UK as a whole than ever before on record.

‘Those opportunities are there – and I hope he has success in the coming weeks.’

According to the latest government figures, unemployment across Wales has actually dropped in the last three months by 13,000 to just 92,000 people.

WHAT A MENANCE!!!

Sometimes when I read some articles in the papers, I wonder where this world is heading.

Times have really changed. Sex as it ought to be is not an act to be abused but a sacred gift.

An article like this reminds me of the term “abuse of purpose” that we often talk about in this blog page. Whenever, a person does not know the use of a thing, an attempt to use it will definitely amount to an abuse of the purpose of that thing.

Just because these teenagers do not understand when and where to have sex, they felt it was okay to use an ambulance which also is meant for a different purpose too.

If you get the idea of what I am writing about, you will be quick to ask yourself the question I always ask myself; “do I understand the purpose for which I have been created”.

I am happy to let you know that my answer is a big “YES”. What about you?

I believe it is a good food for thought for a day like this, when we believers have all been given a new life by the virtue of the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Read the article and answer this most important question that can propel you to the next level of your life.

Teenager punched paramedic after trying to have sex in ambulance waiting to take pensioner to hospital

Kyle Hargreaves (Picture: Humberside Police)

A teenager has been jailed for nearly three years after he punched a paramedic repeatedly when he was caught having sex in the back of an ambulance.

Kyle Hargreaves, 18, told the crew who wanted to take a 92-year-old man to hospital ‘What’s your problem? We are just trying to have sex.’

He then went on to punch paramedic Michael Newman three times in the face, Grimsby Crown Court heard.

The paramedics had been called to help the pensioner when he suffered chest pains.

They left the doors of the vehicle open so that they could get him in quickly, but in the time it took them to get back to the ambulance, Hargreaves and a girl had got in.

The couple were found lying on a stretcher preparing to have sex according to the Grimsby Telegraph.

When they were challenged, ambulance technician William Heron was bitten on the hand by the girl and Mr Newman suffered facial injuries.

Hargreaves was jailed for two years and eight months.

Here's how you can save £17,000
Savvy mum Jennifer Drew has saved 17,000 in three years (Picture: Caters News)
We all like a cheeky BOGOF or a meal deal, and who doesn’t love a freebie?
But this mother of one has taken penny pinching to the next level by spending an hour each day looking for deals – she even devotes an entire room in her home to her bargain buys.
Jennifer Drew, an English teacher from Ashby de la Zouche, is so keen on a bargain she can’t bear to miss out, even if it’s a product she doesn’t need – and she stashes the surplus to give away to her friends.
She estimates she saves £70 each week on a food shop – and once even managed to bag a week’s worth of shopping for just 29p.
Over three years, her thrifty ways have saved her £17,000.
Ms Drew uses newspaper coupons alongside websites like wowcher and groupon to find the ultimate bargain.
The 31-year-old from Leicestershire said: ‘I can’t imagine life without coupons and, to be honest, I don’t understand why no one else is cashing in.
‘Once you get to grips with the process, it’s very simple. What people don’t realise is that a bit of research can save hundreds of pounds.’

She suffered from severe pregnancy insomnia and stumbled across American television show Extreme Couponing.
She said: ‘I was watching TV late at night just because I couldn’t sleep.
‘I came across this programme about couponers and thought I’d give a try.
‘By the time my husband Neil came down for work, I’d saved more money than I’d earn in a full day’s pay.’
For a few months last year, Jennifer ran free couponing classes at her local library and “fully trained” around 20 people.
She adds: ‘I help newbies in all the chatrooms as much as I can and I teach my form class kids how to do it.
‘If you can keep some well-earned money in your pocket, what’s a couple of hours on the computer?’

Islam will equal Christianity’s share of the global population at 32 per cent by 2070, according to new research.
This same analysis concludes that by 2100, Islam will become the most followed religion across the world.
The Muslim community is thought to increase at double the rate of the world’s population, which in turn is expected to grow by 35% over the next 40 years.
The Pew Research Center’s report said: ‘Religions with many adherents in developing countries – where birth rates are high and infant mortality rates generally have been falling – are likely to grow quickly.

‘Much of the worldwide growth of Islam and Christianity, for example, is expected to take place in sub-Saharan Africa.’
By 2050, current trends show that less than 50 per cent of the populations of the UK, Australia, France and the Netherlands will be Christian.
The global number of atheists and agnostics is believed to actually decline over the next four decades from 16 to 13 per cent.
Buddhism will also suffer a decline over the same time period by 0.3 per cent.

I AM YET TO SEE MORE OF THIS!!!!

This is an impeccable story. This man used the gift his manufacturer gave him to make this brilliantly executed advert that has helped save the lives of at least 36 children so far. Thanks to him.

Mothers of babies whose lives have been saved are grateful to him and I am grateful too and I can imagine what could have happened to these children if not for this advert. And that brings my question for you today, whose life have you helped or saved by using your gifts?

You may say, “but I don’t have a gift or I don’t know my gift”. My answer now and as always been is that we have a manufacturer (God) who created us to be like Himself. We all have gifts in us; there is a seed of greatness and excellence inside of you, no matter who you are.

All you need is to discover that gift. If you are yet to discover your gift, the first thing I will urge you to do is to establish a relationship with your maker/ manufacturer. He alone can tell you what he created you to be because as you know, only a manufacturer can tell the use of his product.

When this relationship is established, you will immediately be given a manual who will tell you your use and this manual is called the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our Teacher, counsellor, guardian, helper, intercessor, advocate, strengthener   and many more.  Everyone needs him because He is our spiritual manual.

The Holy Spirit will teach you or minister to you in different ways but the most prominent way will be by an inward witness. You will have this urge which does not come from your body or your soul. It comes from your Spirit; like from your inner belly. If you understand your body so well, you won’t miss Him because there is always a difference when He is telling you something about yourself or giving you instructions.

When you have discovered the way he Holy Spirit gives you this nudge, the next thing to do is, to talk to your manufacturer, and the way by which we communicate with our manufacturer is by a means called prayer. Pray /speak to Him and tell Him that you want to know yourself better; you want to know why you were created. On this occasion, He will answer you through this inner witness and open your mind to areas you could create change.

For most people, this is an area where they have erred or gone astray in the past, your manufacturer may have allowed you gone down that route because He wants you to help others going down that route to have a better life.

For many others, your gifting is in an area you are very passionate about. The good thing is that, no two people are the same. I will encourage you to start today. It is never too late. Age is not even a barrier because the day and time you get this information and begin to act is the day your manufacturer devised that you will begin to act, so don’t worry about your age. Sometimes, your age is required for the application of the knowledge you need.

However, the wrong thing to do, is read this article and remain where you have been, that is sitting on the back seat. It is time to move to the front. So arise and move today.

If after reading this article you want more guidance on how to move forward, just drop me a line on the comment page and I will contact you via email on more ways to start using your gift.

This Chokeables advert by St John Ambulance has saved the lives of 36 children

Ollie McAteer for Metro.co.ukThursday 2 Apr 2015 3:09 pm

This brilliantly executed advert has helped save the lives of at least 36 children.

The Chokeables, voiced by David Walliams, David Mitchell, Johnny Vegas and Sir John Hurt, features tiny objects giving advice on what to do if your baby chokes.

It has been viewed more than 7.7 million times.

Becca Hensman, from Aldershot, said she was able to save her baby after seeing the 40-second advert.

The Chokeables (Picture: YouTube)

She said: ‘I was sat on the sofa with my 12-week-old baby boy asleep in my arms when suddenly he started making a strange noise and started to go a funny colour.

‘It became very clear quickly that he was choking on something. I’d seen the St John Ambulance advert a few days earlier so I flipped my son over on to my leg and after the third back slap I gave him he coughed.

‘My dad checked his airway and luckily the obstruction cleared – my son had been sick in his sleep. If I hadn’t seen that advert I’m not quite sure how I’d have reacted but thankfully I had so I knew what to do straight away.’

The advert shows what to do if your baby starts choking (Picture: YouTube)

The animated clip shows a pen lid, voiced by David Mitchell, asking for the audience’s attention before a red jelly baby – Johnny Vegas – starts choking and turns blue.

Sue Killen, chief executive of St John Ambulance, said: ‘The success of the campaign has been staggering, with over seven million views in our first few weeks, and we are thrilled that people have got behind the campaign.

‘It’s thanks to them spreading the word that so many people have been able to save a child from choking.’
