A stranger stabbed a pregnant woman and ‘removed’ her baby from her womb
after she answered a Craigslist ad for baby clothes, police said.
Officers found a 26-year-old woman with stab wounds in her stomach after
responding to a call at a home in Longmont, Colorado, yesterday afternoon.
The victim, who was seven months pregnant, had been attacked and had had
her baby ripped out of her body after responding to a Craigslist advert to buy
baby clothes, police said.
‘When she got there [to the suspect’s home], she was assaulted and
stabbed, and her baby was removed,’ said Commander Jeff Satur of Longmont
Police.

‘It’s a difficult day for a lot of people.’
The victim was taken to Longmont United Hospital, where she underwent
surgery and is expected to survive.
Strangely, her 34-year-old attacker arrived at LUH at the same time with
the victim’s unborn child, claiming she had miscarried. The baby didn’t
survive.
Some police stations have now started offering ‘safe zones’ for online
buyers and sellers to conduct transactions after a spate of attacks linked to
classifed advertisement websites, KTLA reports.
The suspect is facing charges of attempted murder, assault and child
abuse resulting in death.
