VANITY PLUS VANITY = VANITY

For some, their aim in life is to live a luxurious life, die a luxurious death and be buried in a luxurious tomb. Unfortunately everything in life is vanity except salvation. Like this tomb which was built with so much money and then bombed by a blast, so is the life of a person who dies without achieving purpose. Their lives end and they either go to hell because they were not saved or were saved and made it to heaven but have no crown because they did not walk in purpose.

Let us live everyday contributing to the lives our Creator has placed in our hands. There is a man (generic) in your neighbourhood that needs you. Do not spend your time and money for vanity but use it for the right thing. Save a soul because Someone saved yours.

Is there someone still asking or saying “but I don’t know my purpose”. It is not too late! You have a source, a Creator. Establish a relationship with Him and ask Him, He will surely direct your path. Just as only a manufacturer can provide the manual to a product so also, only your Creator can tell you what you are here for and Whom you are.

Saddam Hussein’s lavish tomb destroyed in bombing

The lavish tomb of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has been all but destroyed following heavy bombing in Tikrit.

Fighting intensified north and south of Tikrit yesterday as Iraq security forces and Iranian-backed Shia militia attempted to drive Isis militants out of the city.

And the opulent mausoleum of ousted leader Saddam Hussein – who was executed by hanging in 2006 – has been almost completely levelled by bombing raids over the city.

The tomb, which is in the south of the city, was built by Saddam’s supporters and military veterans after his death and was adorned with photos of the despot. His grave was decorated with flowers inside a marble octagon.

After heavy bombing yesterday, all that remained were the support columns that held up the roof, while Shia militia symbols and flags were draped across the floor.

The BBC reports that some of Iraq’s Sunni community – the tribal arm of whom have formed an uneasy alliance with the Iraqi army – believe the tomb was deliberately destroyed. There are also fears the push into the Sunni heartland could provoke repercussions.

The body of Saddam, who was from Tikrit, was removed last year by the local Sunni population and taken to an unknown location.
